About HEARTS

HEARTS was originally founded in 2008 as a student club and was later approved as an official 501-c-3 nonprofit organization in 2010. We are dedicated to providing education and basic necessities to underprivileged children globally. Currently, we sponsor the education of 112 children in China.

Our Vision

We're proud of how much we've expanded in the past year. We currently have 12 chapters worldwide and support the education of 112 underprivileged children, and increase of 104% from last year. Nevertheless, we aim to continue expanding not only our current member base, but also our influence. Last year, members representing HEARTS went on to organize and host international conferences in China. This year, we are looking to hold more community events to engage not only the international community, but also the local community.
Fundraising

Fundraising

In order to support the education of the underprivileged children, I lead the HEARTS Officers in hosting fundraisers. We have numerous events each year, such as our Succeed and Help Succeed fundraiser where we educate attendees on the college application process.

In addition to supporting education, HEARTS also works to alleviate poverty through microfinance. We have lent over 160,000 Yuan in the form of low-interest loans in order to empower impoverished farmers with the means to improve their lives.
HEARTS Leadership

Leadership

Ever since I joined HEARTS back in 2014, I've been very involved in the leadership of HEARTS, from fundraising to organizing local holiday events. Now, as the Co-President of HEARTS, I'm happy to say we will continue to expand and realize our vision.
Presidential Service Award

Presidential Service Award

The Presidential Service Award is an award granted by the United States Government to individuals who volunteer and contribute greatly in the community. HEARTS is a partner of the Award Program, and I have been received a Gold Medal for the award in 2016 and a Silver Medal in 2015.
China Visits

China Visits

Every year, members of HEARTS and several other nonprofit organizations travel to China to visit the children we support. There, we volunteer at special needs and local schools and donate gifts for the children.
